David Mico arrived in Merida, Mexico in August 2015 as Consul General and Principal Officer.
Prior to his posting in Merida, Consul Mico has had an outstanding diplomatic career occupying different positions in countries as diverse as El Salvador, Hungary or Uzbekistan, just to name a few. (If you would like to know more about our new Consul General, please visit this link).
Consul Mico has been meeting with local political leaders in order to promote educational, economic and tourism links between the U.S. and the three states of the Yucatan Peninsula.
During a Yucatan State Consular Corps gathering that took place in Merida, Yucatan Friday October 9th, Consul Mico and Merida Mayor Mauricio Vila discussed means to coordinate services for the growing community of U.S. citizens  living in Merida and to continue the good relationship between the United States and the “White City”.US Consul General David Mico and Governor Alejandro Moreno.jpgOn Monday October 12th, U.S. Consul General David Mico met with Quintana Roo State Governor Roberto Borge.
They discussed their mutual desire to increase cooperation and build on an already strong relationship shared by the United States and the State of Quintana Roo.
And finally, on Friday October 30th, Consul Mico met with Campeche Governor Alejandro Moreno Cardenas at the House of Governors in San Francisco de Campeche.
Consul General Mico and Governor Moreno both expressed a desire to increase cooperation and build on the already strong relationship between the United States and Campeche State
