A fight between two students from a private school ended with one of them stabbed to death.
The fight occurred on Friday during school hours at Rogers Hall School, in the north of the municipality of Mérida.
Two students were fighting and one of them took out a knife to stab his classmate.
Subsequently, the aggressor ran out of the facilities; while the injured student was taken to the school infirmary and then to a clinic.
Through a statement, Rogers Hall School reported that after the “incident”, the high school continued its work.
It clarified that the integrity of the rest of the students and teachers was not at risk.
However, the institution did not report the health status of the attacked student.
“We must clarify that the situation is under control and we are in coordination and cooperation with the corresponding authorities for the proper follow-up,” it indicated.
Violence among young people, inside and outside of school in Mexico
Inside and outside the classrooms, young students have not known how to resolve their conflicts and have preferred to do so with beatings that have taken their classmates to the hospitals.
On September 9, Bryan Alberto Esteban was beaten and left in serious condition in the streets of Supermanzana 201, in Cancún, reported the Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office, which is why they investigated several young people who gave him the brutal beating. Alberto Esteban had allegedly gone to pick up his girlfriend from a party.
That same day, during the early hours of the morning, seven young people were implicated in the beating of Ernesto Calderón Galindo.
Puebla Attorney General Gilberto Higuera Bernal said the alleged suspects left Ernesto with a severe eye injury. The attackers, who were discharged, were students from Tec de Monterrey.
In Jalisco, Juanita, 17 years old, was beaten by three young girls on a field in the municipality of Poncitlán.
The University of Guadalajara decided to suspend two of them, since three of the four are students from their high school, including the victim who ended up unconscious.
A 15-year-old student at the Durango College of Sciences and Humanities was beaten with stones and sticks by his own classmates and other people.
Cristian Ariel was beaten by a group of at least 15 young people who entered the sports field of the campus belonging to the Juárez University of the State of Durango.
In Coahuila, a 14-year-old high school student stabbed his Spanish teacher in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila in front of the rest of his classmates. Patricia Eugenia, 59, was treated at the ISSSTE and did not have serious injuries, said Francisco Saracho, state Secretary of Education.
