A young man driving a luxury car veers off the road during drag races on the Mérida-Progreso highway in Yucatán.
A video went viral on social networks showing how the so-called drag races freely take place on the federal Mérida-Progreso highway.
The clip circulating on the networks shows how a young man competing with a luxury car loses control of the steering wheel, skids, and ends up in the middle of the median of the mentioned road.
Although it is not identified at what point on the highway this incident occurred (it apparently happened in front of Residencial Xcanatún), what is noticeable is the absence of authorities monitoring that section to prevent such competitions.
It has been reported that the drag races mainly involve young people from a high socioeconomic level, with access to luxury vehicles that they can even modify.
