After the ‘Colado’ was kidnapped, his alleged captors sent photographs to the man’s family to ask for a ransom of about 10 million pesos. In the images you could see the man with his hands tied and blindfolded.

Despite the fact that the family managed to deliver the ransom, the kidnappers allegedly did not comply with their part, since the corpse of the ‘Colado’ was found dead lying in a green area on Avenida Monte de Gibraltar with Cerrada Monte Benacantil, in Cancun, Quintana Roo.

According to the first versions that had emerged, on the same day that “El Colado” had been kidnapped, the authors of the crime had asked the family for 10 million pesos for his release under pain of depriving him of his life, In the end, they complied by paying the ransom.

It was learned of the kidnapping that it occurred when the businessman was driving on the Colonia Yucatán-Cuyo highway when he was allegedly picked up by 23-year-old Manuel Alberto PM; Yiruba Merari ML, 39 years old; Marco Antonio PB, 18 years old and his sister Diana Laura PB, 20 years old, all residing in Cancún Quintana Roo, who ended up killing him.

The man was kidnapped and killed despite the ransom being paid.

MÉRIDA, Yucatan.- The case of kidnapping and homicide of a businessman from Tizimín continues and in a marathon hearing of six hours, the Second Judge of Control of Mérida, Ileana Domínguez Zapata, linked the five young people involved in the illegal deprivation to the process of the freedom and murder of the real estate businessman from El Cuyo, which occurred on April 21, in the eastern part of the state. 

The resolution was issued for the crime of aggravated kidnapping of real estate businessman Jaime CP, alias “El Colado”. 

Very young detainees

The detainees are Gregorio Jesús ML, alias “Chuy”, 20 years old; Manuel Alberto PM, 23; Viriba Morán ML, of 39; Marco Antonio PB, 18, and his sister Diana Laura PB, 20., who were ordered a precautionary measure of preventive detention for the entire duration of the process. 

The judge established a period of four months for the closing of the complementary investigations of this case. 

Hearing the case

At the hearing held this Friday at the Oral Justice Center of Mérida, under strong security measures, the prosecutors and the defense of the accused debated for several hours the evidence that is in the investigation folder. 

In the end, the control judge Ileana Domínguez Zapata issued the binding order for the crime of aggravated kidnapping

Also, it confirmed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the entire duration of the process.

The three men and two women are identified as allegedly responsible for the kidnapping of businessman Jaime CP, in Tizimín. 

They were detained in Cancún, Quintana Roo, by investigating agents of the SSP and the State Attorney General’s Office.
