Once again, the Ministry of Tourism and the government of Yucatán modified the date of the Tianguis Turístico, which is now scheduled to take place from November 21 to 24 in Mérida, with the guarantee that it will be a safe event in bio-health.

The head of Sectur, Miguel Torruco, and Governor Mauricio Vila explained that the objective of moving the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico to November, instead of September as it was on the agenda, is to have more possibilities of attendance.

The foregoing is based on the advances of the vaccine against Covid-19 in Mexico and in the world, which guarantees that more international buyers attend; In this way, the main objective of the business meeting will be fulfilled, which is to promote the promotion and commercialization of the different destinations.

Torruco Marqués gave as an example the last edition of Fitur in Madrid, Spain, of how the most important tourism fairs can be held under the bio sanitary measures established by the authorities.

“In the case of Mexico, the federal Ministry of Tourism and the government of Yucatán continue working to carry out the 45th edition of the Tourism Tianguis, which will take place in Mérida. This event had to be suspended in March 2020 and postponed to September of this year. However, both Governor Mauricio Vila and a server, we have decided that this new edition of the Tianguis Turístico will take place from November 21 to 24, ”said Miguel Torruco.

For his part, the state president assured that it will be a successful event and according to the trends we expect, it will also be a watershed in the tourist recovery.

The Tianguis Turístico in Mérida will be held in biosafety conditions, with all the protocols and sanitary measures to take care of the health of the attendees.

In addition, work is being done on the logistics that allow the event to be an area free of this disease. Previously, attendees must undergo an antigen test which, if negative, will allow access to the event.

Also, through the official channels of the Tourist Tianguis, participants will be informed about the measures that will be carried out during the event.
