MERIDA, Yucatan.- The new distribution center for Amazon in Yucatan, located in the town of Uman, which was announced in March 2020
The opening news was announced by David Miller Gomez Giron, Amazon country manager, through his social networks, thanking in parallel all those who have made the project possible.
The new Amazon distribution center in Yucatan would already be in operation.
“The building will allow us to improve delivery time to our clients in southeast Mexico, in addition to providing leadership development opportunities to all of our teams,” shared Gomez Giron.
Regarding the above, Diego Méndez de la Luz, Amazon’s director of operations, previously anticipated that the launch of this new shipping center would benefit with same-day deliveries in the city of Mérida and locations such as Umán, Conkal, Kanasín, Progreso, Chuburná, Chelem, and Chicxulub Puerto.
In addition, it will allow next day deliveries to Campeche, Valladolid, Motul, Tizimín, Chetumal, Bacalar, Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
As has been announced, the Amazon complex in Yucatán has been built on a 78,741-square-meter lot and its warehouse area is around 19,200 square meters. In addition to this, it has an expansion area of 9840 square meters.
