For the third time in a row, there will be no entity in red, which represents the near end of the “third wave” of infections
The Ministry of Health (SSa) updated this Friday the Epidemiological Traffic Light of coronavirus ( COVID-19 ), which will be in force from October 4 to 17.
Through the official website, the Government of Mexico indicated that the country will be colored as follows:https://6c0160e25e87b493cd7a775d038b447e.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html
In color “red” (maximum risk of contagion) there will be no state for the third consecutive time so far in this “third wave”. The last ones were Colima, Guerrero, Puebla, Hidalgo, Tabasco, Tamaulipas and Nuevo León, a month and a half ago.
On the contrary, in the color “green” (low risk) there will be nine states, five more than two weeks ago: Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Chiapas remain, and Durango, Zacatecas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Quintana Roo are added.

In “yellow” or moderate risk, there will be 22 states, two less than in the last update: Sonora, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Querétaro, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz , State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán.
While in “orange” (high risk) there will be only Baja California, when 15 days ago there were four.
This indicator confirms a clear decrease in cases of contagion, hospitalization, and deaths in the country in this “third wave” of the disease.
The four elements evaluated to determine the color of the traffic light in each entity are: the percentage of occupation of beds in intensive care, percentage of positive cases of coronavirus; trend of occupied beds and trend of positive cases; that is, the expected behavior based on current numbers, and which is calculated by the National Council of Science and Technology ( Conacyt ).
