With new air connections to León, Guanajuato and Flores, Guatemala, Yucatán increases its offer, creates more jobs and attracts national tourism
Yucatan will increase the offer of air connections after the announcement by the governor, Mauricio Vila Dosal, about the new Merida-León air routes of Volaris and Mérida-Flores, Guatemala, of the airline TAG. The announcement was made within the framework of the Tianguis Turístico 2022, which takes place in Acapulco, Guerrero.
Vila Dosal led, together with the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhué Rodríguez Vallejo, and the Vice President of Volaris, Holger Blankenstein, the signing of a letter of intent for the operation of the flight to the Bajío area, and he did the same with the president, Marcela Toledo Beltrán. and general director of TAG, Julio Gamero, to cover the route to Flores, in Guatemalan territory, which is where the Tikal archaeological zone is located.
Regarding these new air connections, it was announced that both will enter into operations before the end of this year and soon the frequencies and cost of the flight will be announced, with which the economy and the tourism sector of the state will continue to be promoted, which represent an important source of jobs for service providers.
In this framework and accompanied by the head of the Tourism Development Secretariat (Sefotur), Michelle Fridman, the Governor also signed a letter of intent with business partners for the promotion of Yucatan, which was also signed by the CBX general directors, Jorge Goytortua Bores; of Travel Shop, Miguel Galicia; from Viajes Palacio, Sylvia Esquivel; from Mega Travel, Kristina Saadova; from Tag Airlines, Julio Gamero; Volaris Vice President Holger Blankenstein; the marketing director of Viva Aerobus, Karla Vargas; the CEO of Price Travel Holding, Jorge Restrepo and the President of Conexstur, Verena Knopp.
Vila Dosal indicated that it is very important to continue increasing air connectivity. Moments before, the Governor participated in the activation of the Gastronomic Zone of Yucatan where he tasted some typical dishes made by 4 Yucatecan chefs to give a little taste of Yucatan.
At a press conference, Vila Dosal indicated that tourism is a great opportunity to generate the jobs that Yucatecans need, since normally the sources of work tend to be concentrated in the Yucatecan capital, however, through the diversification of the tourist product this Industry allows generating more jobs throughout the state with attractions such as archaeological sites, cenotes and beaches.
