An organic and vegan supermarket opens its doors soon in the city of Mérida

Gypsea Market is a supermarket focused on all organic, ketogenic, gluten-free and vegan foods, this giant of organic products decided not only to open its doors in Tulum but has also opened a new branch in the city of Mérida and also eventually they will have four stores around the Yucatan Peninsula.

The San Ramón Norte branch is the second store of Gypsea Market.

The opening of its new branch will bring with it new lines of natural foods and it will be located on the north side of the city next September.

Philippe Hallani is the owner of this supermarket and has spent the last 10 years running the business in Tulum, Gypsea Market is known all over the world because it promotes yoga and fit/healthy living as well.

The whole story began when he met her Mexican wife, Belén, in Paris, it was there that he decided to leave his globetrotting career behind and move to Tulum with her.

Upon arriving in Mexico, he was enamored and impressed with the variety of organic items produced in Mexico and at that moment it occurred to him that a contemporary grocery store dedicated to these products would be a good idea, as soon as the store opened in Tulum it quickly became successful and positioned himself among the people in a short time.

The owner of the supermarket, Hallani, has two clear objectives for the new market and restaurant, the first will be to improve the supermarket experience by creating an excellent warm atmosphere through good music, lighting, and service.

The supermarket has beautiful wooden seats throughout, and matte black metal shelves, the combination of which creates a natural and comfortable environment.

The second place is that 95% of the 25,000 products in the store continue to belong to at least one of four categories: organic, keto, vegan and gluten-free, he has said that this concept is key for both the market and the restaurant.

The new store in Mérida, which will be the first of two already planned, not only favors products from the Yucatán, but also from other parts of Mexico, almost 90% of the products are made in Mexico and only a small amount in the USA and France.

A variety of organic beef, lamb, chicken, duck, wild hog, ostrich, rabbit and buffalo will also be available.

PRICES

The Tulum branch outdoor restaurant has a pizza oven, in Gypsea the prices of the pizzas vary between 150 to 230 pesos and the gluten-free pizzas are a little more expensive. Salads are 100-160 pesos, main courses are 180-260 pesos, cold drinks are 50-130 pesos, and coffee drinks are 40-70 pesos.

Within a year another Gypsea Market will open in Merida, and also one in Playa del Carmen.
