Yucatan will seek to shine in Tianguis Turístico de México 2023

The destination will be present at different points in Mexico City, from March 26 to 29

MÉRIDA, Yuc.- With the participation of 86 businessmen, 6 gastronomic ambassadors, artisans and the most representative of its culture, products and services, Yucatán will be present at the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México (TTM).

The most important exhibition of this industry in Mexico and Latin America, in its 2023 edition, will take place in Mexico City from March 26 to 29.

The Yucatan stand will be the third largest this year, with 648 square meters, in which various international actors will hold business meetings, such as travel agencies, hotels, municipalities, associations, agencies, the Congress and Conventions Office, wholesalers and airlines, among others.

In this edition, the Tendejón dynamic will also take place, implemented during version 45, which was held in Mérida, whose purpose is to encourage potential partners, publicize the local offer and generate more appointments, among Yucatecan buyers and businessmen.

The latter will deliver tickets, which can be exchanged for any of the more than 3,000 products and gifts, such as handicrafts and souvenirs.

There will be guayaberas, embroidered blouses and notebooks, donated by different municipalities; doilies, henequen bags, and cup holders; habanero sauces, craft beers and wines, flour and jams, among other gastronomic products.

While the business community provided courtesies in accommodation and tours, and there will be merchandise from the representative sports teams, Venados FC and Leones.

As part of the presence of the territory, different activations of high visual impact will be carried out, in strategic locations of the Citibanamex Convention Center, where the negotiations and activities of the TTM will take place, or outdoors, which will have the objective of showing the beauty of the region the inhabitants of the capital.

The actions include activations with flamingos, “you and me” chairs, photographic scenes of emblematic areas and an immersive space in the shape of a cube, in which the colors of Yucatan will come to life through images recorded, developed, and projected in 360-degree format.

In addition, there will be the #YucatánEsColor and #YucatánEsSabor campaigns, in the venue and areas with high buyer traffic, such as the 700-square-meter Gastronomic Zone, with 6 ambassadors: Gerardo Castro Mena, from El Sazón de Valladolid; María Antonia Yam Chi, from the Zamná restaurant; Concepción Guadalupe Sánchez Mena, from Xmahaná; María Isabel Sánchez Licona, from El Patio; Pedro Medina Casanova, from Taquería “La Lupita”, and Julio Cortés, representative of Tere Cazola, who will prepare and sell traditional dishes.

This module will be complemented with a bar for local beer tastings, run by Esmeralda Brewing; talks and workshops to learn how to carve a lek, from the hand of the artisan Alfredo Poot; on melipona honey, by Begoña Quijano, from Queen Bee Honey, and the Mayan worldview of sweets, with Anselma Chalé Euán, accompanied by María Rosalía Couoh Chalé, from Kuchil KaaB.

Both in this edition and the one that took place in Mérida, it has been decided to involve residents and visitors through the Tianguis para Todos plan, from March 25 to 27, between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., in 2 locations; one in Paseo de Reforma, with the Cultural Festival of Mexico City, where there will be a module with products for sale and an operator for the promotion of tourist packages.

Another point will be the corridor that goes from the Puerta de Leones of Chapultepec Castle to the Monument to the Niños Heroes, with continuous cultural presentations and the presence of the Trovemia Trio, on Monday 27; The opportunity will be taken to continue promoting the destination, with tastings of traditional dishes, and brand presence through volumetrics, banners and significant articles.

The activities of Yucatan in this framework will start this Saturday, the 25th, at 103 Michoacán Street, Condesa neighborhood, at 10:00, with the start of the Yucatruck, a mobile gastronomic exhibition that will also arrive at the Soumaya Museum, the World Trade Center and the Lincoln Parks, Mexico and Spain, among other strategic sites, until the 28th, distributing tacos de Cochinita that Medina Casanova will prepare, since “La Lupita” has become popular with those who have visited Mérida.
