Megacable begins the construction of 1,000 kilometers of networks in Mérida

Megacable Holdings announced an investment plan for 242 million pesos (14 million dollars) to develop a new 1,180-kilometer network infrastructure in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, and its metropolitan area.

The company indicated that this investment will allow the creation of 840 direct and indirect jobs in that city.

In the region of the Yucatán Peninsula, which covers the states of Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Campeche and Tabasco, the company Megacable Holdings said it is investing more than 549 million pesos to build 3,050 kilometers of additional fiber optic network, which will allow cover 670,000 homes, which will represent 84% coverage.

Currently, Megacable Holdings’ network covers 357,000 homes, 36% of the peninsular region.

At the end of June 30, 2023, Megacable had around 4.7 million unique subscribers, including more than 4.4 million Internet subscribers, another 3.8 million video users and around 3.8 million in fixed telephony.
