Why did the sea move away in Yucatan?

This morning, Yucatecans were surprised to report the departure of the sea in Progreso; this phenomenon is known as marine emptying, and is caused by seasonal conditions such as cold fronts, “northern” events and variations in atmospheric pressure.

The reason why this morning the sea of Alejo in Progreso was due to the entry of Cold Front 32 in the region and a “northerly” event; however, this phenomenon does not present a risk to the population, although caution is requested due to weather conditions, especially in coastal areas.
