FIVE RANCHES OF THE SINALOA CARTEL FALL IN TIZIMIN; ARSENAL AND DRUGS DECOMISED.
TIZIMIN, YUC. – In a lightning and high precision operation, Federal Forces (SEDENA, SEMAR, and National Guard) executed the search of five cattle ranches on the Tizimin-Colony Yucatan road section. Authorities succeeded in securing heavy-caliber weapons, drug shipments, and arresting at least one person in what was supposed to be a base of operations and money laundering of the Sinaloa Cartel.
El Rancho San Felipe: Operations Center. The most relevant property, the San Felipe ranch, has more than 3 thousand hectares where, in the absence of real cattle, only 20 neglected cattle were found, and there were located wineries used to store illegal substances. Luis O.S., aged 20, was arrested on site, while the alleged leader of the cell, identified as Luis Ochoa, had managed to escape alongside about twenty employees.
Connection of Playa del Carmen and exclusion of local police. Federal investigations point out that these properties, which amount to more than 10 thousand hectares in the region, were used to launder resources derived from criminal activities in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. It points out that the operation was carried out without the intervention of the state and municipal police of Yucatan, in the face of suspicions that local elements provided protection to this criminal group. These actions are also linked to a prior arrest of two subjects in a van with a bulletin last February 4 in the colony La Huayita.
