Man about to be lynched for causing damage to a church in Celestún

Celestún, Yucatán (January 5, 2021). – Tired of the frequent robberies in the port, residents of Celestún were on the verge of lynching a subject, allegedly from Veracruz, who caused damage to the chapel of the Virgin of Guadalupe, located in this coastal town.

And it is that the outsider, tried to incinerate an effigy of the Virgin, broke one and threw other objects that were on display inside the church.

The riotous man was visibly drunk and many people believe to have acted under the influence of some prohibited substance.

Upon hearing the scandal inside the religious building, locals notified the municipal police. Before the uniformed soldiers arrived, they tied him up and placed him face down on the floor.

The annoying Catholics went to the municipal command to threaten the subject and warn him that they did not want him hanging around the chapel or lynching him the next.

“Would you like us to do the same to you, what do we burn you?” shouted one of the women most furious because of the damage caused by the detainee.
