Pilot of the gl drone company manages to capture a douglas dc-3 in an area of difficult access in the celestún biosphere reserve / insighters say that the aircraft crossed in 1979 and only gasoline cans were found and others affirm that it was a an airplane known as “el venado”, which was transferring contraband at that time.

PROGRESO.– Members of the company GL Drone, dedicated to taking aerial shots with the use of drones, shared yesterday on their social networks the most recent photographs of an old Douglas DC-3 plane that is found abandoned in the mountains of the reserve of the Celestún biosphere and which, according to what they say, was used to transport drugs.

Although it is known that the plane is at that site, the photos released are the most recent known, since very few have had access to the site because it is practically lost in the mountains and far from any road or path. The plane was captured in recent days with a DJI Mavic Pro modified to reach the area where the aircraft is located.

As indicated, the drone is modified to fly up to 15 kilometers at an altitude of 40 meters (30 km in total considering 15 round trips and 15 back).

According to the people of GL Drone, the plane belonged to the well-known drug trafficker Pablo Escobar Gaviria for the transfer of drugs and fell approximately 30 years ago in that area of Yucatan.

The plane is only 17.5km from the port of Celestun, according to their publication. However, others more knowledgeable about aviation matters affirm that the plane crashed in 1979 with no loss of life and that at that time no drugs were found, only cans of gasoline. Others even commented that it is the plane known as “El Venado” that several decades ago collapsed while carrying contraband.

The images that were released yesterday have caught the attention of numerous people who have left dozens of comments about the aircraft and even their intentions to visit it, although the people of GL Drone warn that it is not a good idea, since they need a few days to reach the site on foot. They also report that they will soon share a video of the plane. You can follow GL Drone on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/GLDRONE/
