51 days after the inauguration of the Great Park of La Plancha, the works continue their course waiting to meet the deadline announced by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal.
The head of the Executive revealed that the opening of the complex will be on November 19, with the presence of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, so the main constructions are already almost complete, waiting to receive the final finishes.
In that sense, the artificial lake stands out, of which Vila Dosal himself commented “I already saw myself walking there with my family.”
During his participation in the i6 Convention, the Governor shared the opening date, during his keynote conference “Yucatán: a state with actions for a sustainable future.”
And the surroundings of the 22 hectares that cover the park are also being adapted. Streets 48 and 46 are being intervened, as well as the Yucatán University of the Arts (UNAY), which adjoins the beginning of the recreational areas.
Likewise, parallel constructions are being carried out at a good pace and will complement the recreation area, the Museum of Light, on 50th and 43rd streets, and the IE-Tram terminal on 39th and 42nd.
The flag to start the works was on September 20, 2022, and 94 days later, on December 23, the first objective was met: the delivery of the new houses for the inhabitants of 43-A Street.
This allowed the properties that were in front of the then Article 123 Constitutional Park to collapse on January 3. From there the work intensified and 268 days later you can see in the distance the artificial lake and the buildings that will be the new Railway Museum and the gastronomic market.
Among the first things that were visible to passersby are the covered corridors, which are already finished, the one that starts behind UNAY to 43rd Street, and the two located on the land between 43rd and 50th, separated by the lake and the amphitheater.
Thus, we only have to wait a little more than seven weeks for the arrival of the marked day, and which aims to be quite an event, as it will fall in the middle of the holyday, on the eve of the commemoration of the 113th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution.
