The municipal president Alejandro Ruz Castro will lead a work tour within the framework of FITUR from January 23 to 26 to promote the cultural, gastronomic and historical richness of the city
With the aim of continuing to strengthen Mérida as an attractive tourist destination within the Yucatan Peninsula and to draw strategic alliances for the promotion and investment in this area, Mérida participates in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, Spain.
The Municipal President Alejandro Ruz Castro will lead a work tour within the framework of FITUR from January 23 to 26 to promote the cultural, gastronomic and historical richness of the city, as well as to give greater diffusion to the infrastructure that exists in the Municipality to develop both recreational, student, convention tourism, among others.
“The participation of our Municipality in this important event, will allow us to position ourselves as a city with different tourist products, such as our great cultural, gastronomic offer, in addition to being in a geographical point that offers visitors a proximity to the magical towns, the coast and archaeological sites”, said Ruz Castro.
Among the activities that are scheduled in his work agenda, is his participation in the inauguration of the Mexico Pavilion at FITUR, where the attendance of the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, as well as governors, mayors, tourism secretaries and visitors in general is expected.
Likewise, work meetings with businessmen and diplomats are scheduled to outline strategies for tourist promotion, boost flight connectivity, create national alliances to attract a greater number of visitors and establish agreements to take advantage of digital tools in attracting more national and international tourism.
