The government of the state of Yucatán has decreed that a Dry Law (Ley Seca) will be established as a preventive measure during Hurricane Beryl’s passage through the territory.
This temporary measure prohibits the sale of alcohol from Friday, July 5th at 00:00 hours, until it is revoked through the Official Diary of Yucatán.
“The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages are prohibited throughout the state of Yucatán in all establishments and locations referred to in Article 253-A of the Health Law of the State of Yucatán,” states the decree.
This measure considers administrative or penal sanctions for those who do not respect the measure.
Due to the arrival of Hurricane Beryl in the Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo and Campeche have also determined to establish a Drought Law while the phenomenon passes over the Peninsula.
