Trees and poles, power outages, and other minor incidents occurred, but there were no human losses to mourn. This was the aftermath of Hurricane “Beryl” as it passed through Yucatán. As of today, Friday, the dry law is lifted, along with all the restrictive measures implemented as a precaution against this natural phenomenon, announced Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal.
In a message addressed to the people of Yucatán through social media, Vila Dosal highlighted the great preventive work done by everyone, which has allowed us to maintain a clean slate. He expressed gratitude for the understanding of the Yucatec people and called on them to continue working diligently to build the best Yucatán of all time, starting tomorrow.
The Governor stated that non-essential work and economic activities will resume normally from today, Friday. The dry law is lifted, and public transportation services will return to their usual schedules during the course of this afternoon and tomorrow.
Assessing the situation, the Governor reported that, based on current reports, only trees, branches, and poles fell. Elements from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), Civil Protection, and the Armed Forces are contributing to their removal.
Regarding electricity supply restoration, Vila Dosal reminded everyone that this falls under the jurisdiction of the federal government through the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). Users are encouraged to report any issues by calling 071.”
