Tender Issued for Comprehensive Security Review of Mexico’s Mayan Train Project

- July 24, 2024

The Federal Government has launched a tender for an independent security assessment of the Mayan Train, which will cover five states: Chiapas, Campeche, Tabasco, Yucatan, and Quintana Roo.

The tender, LA-07-H0M-007H0M001-N-10-2024, is for evaluating the sections 1 to 5 of the railway line. The assessment aims to evaluate whether specific aspects of the security management process have been adequately implemented and if specific requirements have been met regarding the system or its parts.

One of the tender’s requirements is the review of the organization and planning of security processes in the testing phases of specialized systems or subsystems that make up the Railway System on sections 1 to 5 of the Mayan Train. Additionally, the assessment must evaluate the verification and validation already carried out.

According to the statement, “To do this, an evaluation must be made of the management of the security process undertaken by the Specialized Systems that will integrate sections 1 to 5.” The tender also requires a report on the management of specific aspects of the security process at interfaces with risk assessment systems, mitigation means, and civil works related to specialized systems.

Companies participating in the tender are asked to submit their economic proposals. The winning bidder’s announcement is scheduled for July 29th.
