Starting this Tuesday, the Center of Control, Command, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, and Coordination (C5i) of the state of Yucatán will bear the name of Secretary of Public Security, Luis Felipe Saidén Ojeda.
The announcement was made by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal during an event where he also unveiled a plaque with the name of the commander and celebrated a 10% salary increase for the operational personnel of the SSP (State Public Security) and FGE (Fiscal General of the State).
Vila Dosal emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure, equipment, and working conditions to maintain security in the state.
“This is the third salary increase in two years. Our goal was for the lowest-paid police officer to earn between 25 and 30 thousand pesos per month, but the pandemic slowed us down. Now, others will continue with this plan,” said Governor Vila Dosal.
Housing Plans
In addition to the salary increase, which will take effect on August 15th, it was announced that FGE personnel will begin paying for a housing program through INFONAVIT starting June 1st. The state government will absorb 2% of the cost of the housing, CANADEVI another 2%, and the personnel will only contribute 1%.
During the event, new equipment was also delivered to the security forces, including three Black Mamba APC Sand Cat vehicles with B7 level armor and a capacity for 11 passengers, four Ford F250 pickup trucks with V Plus armor, and four rescue vehicles and one fire truck from RAM, all of model 2023.
Note: C5i stands for “Centro de Control, Comando, Cómputo, Comunicación e Inteligencia”, which translates to Center of Control, Command, Computing, Communication, and Intelligence.
