A young woman was traveling on the Nora Quintana route of Va y Ven in Mérida when a man next to her began touching himself.
Elements of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) arrested the man after he sexually harassed the young woman on a Va y Ven transportation system unit in the city of Mérida.
According to a social media post by the victim’s sister, the incident occurred on a unit of the Nora Quintana route.
The victim informed the Va y Ven driver about what was happening, who immediately requested the presence of SSP Yucatán to proceed with the arrest.
“Girls or boys, if you are being harassed, do not hesitate to inform the driver; these actions must be punished,” the young woman mentioned on social media.
