During a press conference, the presentation of the II Ice Cream Festival in Yucatan was held, in which some 40 exhibitors will participate.
MÉRIDA, Yucatán.— Refreshing, delicious, surprising and original, this will be the offer of some 40 exhibitors, 20 ice cream specialists, who next Sunday, June 19 , starting at 11 in the morning, will be participating in the Festival of Ice Cream in Yucatan which, in its second edition, will take place in the Parque de la Paz in Mérida.
This Monday at the Gran Lumiere restaurant, the organizers of the event, members of the Peninsular Gastronomic Circuit, offered a press conference in which they announced details of the organization of the festival, a refreshing experience in which visitors will learn about the widest offer in ice creams, popsicles, frappes, desserts, etc, from the most typical and traditional to the most innovative, different and sophisticated.
In addition there will be 20 exhibitors of typical food and sale of artisan products as well as an entertaining cultural program that includes live music, folkloric ballet and dance groups.
Great tradition in the elaboration of ice cream
The organizers stressed that Yucatan enjoys a great tradition in the production of ice cream, achieving fruit flavors that are highly preferred by the Yucatecan public and visitors. However, the originality of exotic flavors is striking, such as some made with bacon or octopus or with flavors of black or cochinita stuffing.
The second edition of this fair, the first was in Tizimín in 2019, should have been held in Progreso in 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic meant that it will be rescheduled until now in the Parque de la Paz.
