Present at the press conference were Salvador Castell González, state coordinator of the Network for the Future of Yucatán and director of “Va por la tierra”; José Gustavo Arjona Canto, executive secretary of the Codhey; and Alejandra Bazán Godoy, head of sustainable culture at the State Secretariat for Sustainable Development.
Also Angélica Escalante Acereto, director of Environmental Education of the Sustainable Development Unit of the Mérida City Council; Sofía Morán Mena, logistics coordinator of “Va por la tierra” and president of the Uady energy society, and María Virgilio Hernández, vocalist of the children’s and youth rock group “La Última Gota”.
Castell González explained that the main event will be a wrestling function with local talent in which the character created by “Va por la Tierra” will debut, a masked man whose face symbolizes the purple butterfly that distinguishes the movement.
It was recalled that since July 27, 2022, the United Nations Organization elevated the enjoyment of a clean, healthy and sustainable environment to the rank of human right.
Likewise, there will be a puppet theater with works that will address the themes “Together against bullying”, “Once upon a time there was a right” and “Right to non-discrimination and cultural identity”. There will be a space for games such as lottery and jenga.
The State Secretariat for Sustainable Development will promote a campaign for the donation and delivery of fruit or flower trees from the region so that attendees can take them home, find a suitable space to plant, take care of it and make it grow.
The Sustainable Development Unit, through its Animal Welfare program, will offer free veterinary consultations and will give up for adoption some dogs that it has in its custody and that were on the streets.
In addition, there will be a fair for entrepreneurs and an agroecology area.
A concert with the rock band “La Última Gota” will begin at 7:00 p.m. It is a band of boys, children and adolescents who play drums, guitar and keyboards, whose musical theme revolves around the preservation of the environment, nature and respect for the fauna and flora of the region.
The wrestling function will be from 20 hours.
