The Governor-elect, Joaquín Díaz Mena, has confirmed that Commander Luis Felipe Saidén Ojeda is set to continue leading the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), stating that Saidén Ojeda’s position is the only one guaranteed, if he accepts it.
“We will seek him out to discuss the details of the state’s security; he is the only secretary whose position is secured,” Díaz Mena declared after a meeting with the current Governor, Mauricio Vila Dosal, at the Government Palace. On the same subject, he mentioned that he has not yet formed his cabinet, nor has he given it thought.
“I haven’t considered that yet; we are still counting the records from the districts and municipalities. Perhaps by August or September, we will have the cabinet ready,” he said.
The meeting, which lasted just over an hour and a half, covered topics related to the handover process. Díaz Mena indicated that he would soon announce the committee responsible for this process and that they would conduct a thorough review of each area.
“We will examine the pending projects by area; this is the first meeting, and we will have another eight thematic meetings to discuss various issues such as education, transportation, finance, and the situation of ISSTEY, among others,” he explained.
Díaz Mena noted that he would inherit several ongoing projects, such as the new O’Horán Hospital, which is set to inaugurate its first phase soon, with subsequent stages to follow in the coming months.
