Officials from the State Government of Espírito Santo, Brazil, led by the Secretaries of Economy and Planning, Álvaro Duboc, and Public Safety and Social Defense, Eugenio Countinho Ricas, met with General Commissioner Luis Felipe Saidén Ojeda at the Control, Command, Communications, Computing, Coordination, and Intelligence Center (C5i) of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP).
The Brazilian delegation, which also includes World Bank consultants, is planning the construction of an Integrated Social Defense Center (CIDES) in their province. Their visit to Yucatán’s C5i aims to learn from successful experiences in designing and operating emergency response centers to use as a model.
Commander Saidén Ojeda explained to the visitors the modern surveillance and communication technologies available to the State Police, including cameras, license plate readers, monitoring systems, and intelligence tools. He also highlighted the importance of emergency numbers 9-1-1 and anonymous tip line 089.
In addition to patrols, ambulances, fire trucks, and rescue units, Yucatán’s Governor, Mauricio Vila Dosal, has made significant investments to maintain and strengthen security in the region.
The Brazilian officials expressed keen interest in the results achieved by the Yucatecan Police and their best practices in utilizing available technological tools.
Joining Secretaries Duboc and Countinho in the Espírito Santo State Government delegation are Subsecretary of Public Security André Có Silva, Subsecretary of Intelligence Leonardo Baeta, Specialist from the Secretariat of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Professional Education Jales Cardoso Soares, and World Bank consultants Joaquín Aspiroz and Antonio Hernández.
