The Finnish Ambassador to Mexico, Ari Mäki, expressed the desire of his country’s government to strengthen the bilateral relationship with Yucatán.
The Secretary General of Government (SGG), María Fritz Sierra, received the Finnish diplomat at the State Executive Office, where he held his first official visit to Yucatán since assuming his position in September 2023. In addition to meeting with the Secretary General of Government, the Finnish Ambassador also met with the head of the Research, Innovation and Higher Education (SIIES) Secretariat, Mauricio Cámara Leal, and officials from the Sustainable Development (SDS) and Economic Promotion and Labor (SEFOET) Secretariats.
During the meetings, topics of mutual interest were discussed in areas such as education, sustainability, and the opportunities offered by Yucatán for foreign companies to invest. Officials presented the competitive advantages, legal certainty, land, maritime, and air connectivity; supply chain, infrastructure, human talent, and security climate that position the entity as an excellent option in the global panorama for receiving investments.
