On Monday morning, passersby who were crossing the Campeche exit bridge on Periférico Avenue in Mérida had a macabre start to their week. At around kilometer 3 of the Anillo Periférico, they found the body of a person lying unconscious under the bridge.
As people crossed the bridge, some of them called emergency numbers to report what they had seen. Within minutes, paramedics arrived and confirmed that the person was deceased with no vital signs.
It appears that the victim was a homeless man who lost his life apparently due to natural causes.
The Forensic Medical Service later took custody of the body of the unfortunate individual.
