A massive operation conducted by federal and state forces on Wednesday resulted in the confiscation of approximately 65 kilograms of marijuana and a suitcase containing 179 rounds of ammunition from different calibres in Villas de Oriente, a neighborhood in the municipality of Kanasín.
The operation was carried out as part of the ongoing battle against narcomenudeo (small-scale drug trafficking) in Yucatán under an order to search the premises, which are located on 67-A street in the mentioned neighborhood.
During the operation, six large boxes and fourteen small ones containing marijuana were found, wrapped in bags weighing a total of approximately 65 kilograms. Additionally, a suitcase with 179 rounds of ammunition from various small and medium calibres, as well as a document, were discovered on the premises.
The operation involved personnel from the Army, Navy, National Guard, State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and the State Security Secretariat (SSP) along with officers from the State Investigation Police (PEI) and canine units (K-9).
