The Governor pointed out that there has been a 32% economic growth rate in the state.
He highlighted that Yucatán has the best benefits for police officers in the country, with salaries above the national average and access to health services. In 2023 and 2024, these benefits increased by 20%.
Additionally, they have better benefits than other states, including access to credit from INFONAVIT for all operational elements, scholarships for the daughters and sons of police officers, and a reward of 2,800 pesos for university students.
Lowest Crime Rate
The Governor stated that there has been a report of the lowest crime rate in our history, with 75% fewer crimes compared to 2019. Yucatán also has the lowest rates of homicides, kidnappings, vehicle thefts, extortion, and home robberies.
He also declared that Yucatán is first in police performance and trust index for the SSP, as well as fourth among states with the most police officers per thousand inhabitants. He compared Yucatán’s level of security to that of countries like France, Luxembourg, Canada, and the United States.
Tourism
In terms of tourism, he noted that Yucatán has the sixth airport in Mexico with the highest number of national passenger arrivals, with 8 routes increasing to 14 and 4 international routes increasing to 9.
The state now has seven Magical Towns (Pueblos Mágicos) – Sisal, Maní, Tekax, Espita, Motul, La Ermita-San Sebastián-Xcalachén, and San Cristóbal Itzamal. Additionally, the Malecón in Dzilam de Bravo and Río Lagartos have been renovated, as well as tourist paradores in Mérida, Tekax, Tizimín, Celestún, San Felipe, Kanasín, and Panabá.
Progreso has been renewed with new attractions such as the Traditional International Malecón, the House of Culture, and the Meteorite Museum. The historic center has also been renovated, including the Plaza Grande, the University of Arts of Yucatán, the Museum of Light, theaters in the city, a tourist and gastronomic corridor, and a total investment of 21.7 million pesos.
Economy
The Governor pointed out that there was an economic growth rate of 32% more than the national average, with the highest number of formal jobs and maximum historical number of registered employers with IMSS.
He highlighted that one in two Yucatecos in extreme poverty has surpassed this condition, with a threefold reduction compared to the national reduction.
