On social media more and more people are expressing their indignation over a video that shows several young people forcing a dog to drink alcohol on the streets of the municipality of Dzidzántún.
In the video a boy with a hat is holding a stray dog and another boy opens its mouth with his help, pouring part of the contents from a jug. A few minutes later they leave the animal alone.
Some versions claim that the dog was given cerveza (beer) to drink, while others say it was whisky, or even an energy drink.
Not only is this act considered animal cruelty by many online users, but the same young people who appear in the recording also posted the video on their own social media accounts. The video would have been made this Monday as part of Dzidzántún’s traditional fiesta (party).
