Neighbors heard cries for help coming from the yard of the approximately 60-year-old man, who was being attacked by an aggressive pig.
A man around 60 years old died after being attacked by a pig in the yard of his home, located in the El Roble Agrícola neighborhood of Mérida.
The incident occurred on a property situated on 39th street between 20th and 18th streets of the aforementioned neighborhood, where the man was in the pigsty he owned.
According to gathered information, the pig began to behave aggressively, biting the man in various parts of his body, which led to cries for help that alerted the neighbors, according to La Verdad Noticias.
Following the emergency call, elements of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) attended the scene to take note of the events. The intervention of paramedics was also requested, who confirmed the death of the man as he showed no vital signs upon their arrival at the residence.
After the death, the house was cordoned off while waiting for personnel from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), who carried out the removal of the body for its transfer to the morgue and the performance of the corresponding autopsy.
