Hundreds of people will attend this Saturday, June 15, the LGBT+ Diversity March in Mérida.
The city of Mérida, Yucatán, will join the LGBT+ pride celebrations this Saturday, June 15, through the Sexual Diversity March 2024.
As every year, the city of Mérida is one of the main venues to celebrate Pride Day, which is celebrated throughout the country.
It should be noted that during June, the LGBT+ pride month is celebrated worldwide in commemoration of the Stonewall riots of 1969.
This anniversary was commemorated on June 28; however, members of the LGBT+ community celebrate it throughout the month with various marches.
That is why in Mérida, hundreds of people will take to the streets of the Historic Center to commemorate and celebrate diversity.
The organizers have confirmed that this 2024 the starting point will remain from the Monumento a la Patria on Paseo de Montejo.
However, this year the celebrations will have to move to La Mejorada Park due to the closure of Plaza Grande for remodeling works.
At 16:00 hours, everyone will begin to gather to march and walk these streets carrying rainbow flags.
The route will start from the Monumento a la Patria, walking all along Paseo de Montejo until reaching 47th street, where they will turn right.
Then, upon reaching 58th street, they will turn left, where they will walk to 59th street to turn left again until reaching La Mejorada Park.
