You won’t believe the wild theory that’s taking over social media! It all started when a TikTok user, Vicky Wolff, shared a video claiming that the recent heavy rains and stormy weather in Yucatán were caused by the wrath of Chaac, the god of rain. But why? Well, it’s all because someone thought it was a good idea to place a giant statue of Poseidon (the Greek god of the sea) near the port of Progreso!
Vicky, who’s quite skeptical about many things, couldn’t believe the coincidence that heavy rains poured down in Yucatán after the statue was installed. She believes that Chaac got angry because his respect wasn’t given to him. “I’m very skeptical about many things, but what a coincidence! I think Chaac got mad,” she said.
The problem isn’t with the statue itself, which Vicky praises for its beauty and craftsmanship. It’s the fact that it was placed in the sea, according to her. She emphasizes that the issue is not the artwork but what it represents, disrespecting Chaac’s domain.
And boy, did social media react! Hundreds of users chimed in, sharing their own experiences with the statue and making jokes about Chaac’s wrath. Some even joked about inviting Chaac to move to other states!
So, what do you think? Did Chaac really get angry because of Poseidon’s statue?
