A taxi was destroyed after it caught fire outside the Hyatt hotel in the hotel zone of Mérida, Yucatán.
The unexpected accident occurred around midday on Monday when the private vehicle belonging to the FUTV suddenly erupted into flames, apparently due to a short circuit, after the conductor picked up passengers at the mentioned hotel located on Avenida Colón and Calle 60.As the fire spread throughout the taxi, the conductor requested assistance from the Mérida State Police (SSP) firefighters.
Within minutes, the area was filled with SSP agents, firefighters, and hotel staff who worked together to extinguish the flames.
The vehicle was completely destroyed, and it is expected that the insurance company will respond to the damages.
