Dafne López Martínez, an experienced politician and former member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), has been appointed by Joaquín “Huacho” Díaz Mena, the elected governor of Yucatan, as the Coordinator of Strategic Projects for his transition team.
According to his social media posts, Dafne López will help ensure the planning and implementation of large-scale projects in the upcoming government, guaranteeing their viability.
The projects mentioned include the Renacimiento Maya Plan, which involves infrastructure works that will be crucial for the economic development of the state and well-being of Yucatecos, which aims to provide essential services such as roads, public lighting, and potable water in Yucatan.
The Renacimiento Maya Plan includes the creation of the Suburban Metropolitan Ring and a multimodal connection between the Transisthmian Train, the Mayan Train, and the modernization of the Progreso Port, as well as the development of industrial parks with natural gas to boost industry.
Who is Dafne López Martínez?
Dafne López Martínez was a member of the PRI and served as a local deputy and held public office positions. He was also the General Director of the DIF during the administration of then-PRI Governor Ivonne Ortega Pacheco, who now belongs to the Citizen Movement (MC).
Additionally, Dafne López was the director of the Patronato de las Unidades de Servicios Culturales y Turísticos de Yucatan (CULTUR) during the government of Rolando Zapata Bello, a former member of the PRI.
