Residents of the Alemán colony took action by blocking the Nachi-Cocom CFE installations as a measure to pressure authorities into addressing their demands for lack of energy. Manuel Gamboa Ceballos explained that from last Sunday until this Monday morning, they only had electricity for one day, despite making numerous reports to the CFE’s 071 number. They were not satisfied with the solution.
On Monday morning at 6 am, Gamboa Ceballos decided to block the Nachi-Cocom CFE installations. They refused to let any employees in and were attended by Superintendent Jorge Padilla, who committed to addressing their report and restoring energy supply.
More than 250 homes on streets 29 and 29-A from street 26 to 34 of the Alemán colony are without electricity. Residents claim that what they need is maintenance and new wirering, so they demand that authorities carry out the corresponding work.
According to residents, they have been told that their problems would be resolved, but this has not happened. Rosario Cuevas Trejo, who has lived in the area for over 50 years, said she had never experienced such problems before. Her son made multiple reports, at least six, and was told each time that the problem was already solved.
After 9 am, a group of CFE workers arrived to perform maintenance work, but residents remained outside their homes on street 29-A with 30 to ensure that the work was done as promised by the Superintendent.
“Look, they’re just sitting in their truck, it’s an insult. They’re not doing anything,” said José Manuel Cárcamo Gómez while observing a couple of CFE employees in a truck. Residents demanded that authorities attend to their demands and provide a real solution to the problem affecting the area.
