Merida’s Water and Sewer Board (JAPAY) announced that a water pipe leak has left over 30 colonies in Merida without running water or with low pressure on Thursday, July 25th.
The repair of a leak on the kilometer 41 Periférico de Mérida road caused this problem. The leak occurred on a 30-inch duct line located between streets 5-I and 5-B in Juan Pablo II neighborhood.
Due to this issue, Merida IV Plant stopped operating, affecting water supply for Ciudad Caucel, Chenkú and El Enlace districts in the city of Mérida. This will result in over 30 colonies experiencing low pressure or no running water at all.
During the repair work, which is estimated to take some time, several colonias such as Ciudad Caucel, Cordemex, Jardines Lindavista, Tecnológico, Xoclán, Pensiones, Sodzil, Plan de Ayala, Chenkú, and others may be affected.
